>>Yorkie in Holland with NataliaNatalia tells : "Yorkie came with me for the summer holidays, what a change after being all the holidays all alone !
Green windmills in North of Holland
We were in Holland from the 23rd of July till the 7th of August. We went by car to a town called Bergen, where we stayed. We went to Amsterdam, to a museum called Rijksmuseum, the National Art Gallery. We learned a lot about food in the 17th century. You could see what the rich people would eat and what the poor ones would eat. You could also see a party in a rich person’s garden and a party in the house of a farmer, where children would smoke and drink beer ! We learned that salt, pepper and other spices were very expensive and nowadays when something is very expensive people in Holland still say it’s as expensive as pepper. In Alkmaar, there is the most important cheese market of Holland. At this market they only sell Gouda cheese. In the morning, there are 27 000kg and people try to sell everything.
How much Gouda cheese ?
In Amsterdam, we visited the house of Anne Frank, who wrote her famous diary, with her family and other four people, hiding from the Germans. It is very small and they were in the dark all the time.
Very nice clogs...but a little big !
We also went to see windmills. We went inside one were they make paint."
An even bigger clog !
