MAXIME : "We had our picnic in the shade and we played a little... it was funny and the day was quite nice.
After our meal we went to visit the different gardens and they were quite nice. When we would see water, we would go and put it on our faces : it was so hot... but our journey was pleasant and everyone enjoyed themselves.
The name of the place was ''mosa�que'' and the town was called HOUPLIN-ANCOISNE.

A scorching day out... part 1 : LILLE ZOO

RYUTARO : "On Monday 27th, the international classes of Mme Shrubsall and Mr Pawlak with Mme Pawlak's class went to the zoo in Lille.
It was sunny and hot.
We visited the zoo on foot.
First we saw the red pandas... And then some birds... Next we looked at bats, some snakes and tortoises...
Then we watched monkeys on the trees. Monkeys were moving very fast."

Our football tournament by SASHA :
"From April to June we did a football tournament with different teams. I liked a lot the idea to do a football tournament for the last 3 months of the school year even if my team lost straight from the first match.
The final match was team H against team F. The match was very interesting because the final score was 3 goals for each team and it wasn't the same players scoring the goals.
So as time was over, the two teams had to do penalty shoots. (...)

Activities with our British visitors

In the afternoon, we got into the same groups and we went to the different classes, which had prepared activities to share with our visitors.
The pupils of Mme Martin I was with had learnt, by heart, the "the Fables of Jean de la Fontaine", but they made them sound funny saying some silly things in between.
It was the part I preferred.

Each class had prepared a different activity... There was painting, writing hieroglyphs... theatre, counting... Just before our friends (...)

AROUND MIDDAY...
The English Year 4 pupils and teachers from York Road School in Dartford came to visit us on the 16th of June. In the morning, after they they had settled down, we got into 8 groups and we showed them round the empty school.
IN THE AFTERNOON... After some activities in the classrooms you can read more about in another article, we all met together again and we got into 2 groups to walk to the Mairie of Valenciennes.

The Alps

On the 26th of February during the school holidays, Elisabeth and Nora went to the Alps a range of mountains in the east of France to go skiing.
The two girls report... "We went to Morillon, a town beneath the highest mountain of Europe called Mont Blanc which is 4,810.45m. But Mont Blanc is also the border between France and Italy. The pupils of the International Classes of Mme Shrubsall and Mr Pawlak needed a few weeks to get ready for the more than 30 minutes show they performed in Valenciennes' Townhall on Saturday, May 7th.
It was a good opportunity to study the parallel histories of France and Great Britain in order to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Valenciennes and Chatham's twinning...
The pupils of 8 different nationalities managed speak and sing in different languages, mainly French and English but also (...)

Une d�l�gation britannique, haute en couleurs, a rendu visite aux �l�ves des CLIN internationales r�unis pour l'occasion dans une de leurs classes � l'�cole Froissart, le vendredi 6 mai...
Le lendemain, samedi 7 mai, jour de la braderie des commer�ants dans le centre ville, les �l�ves des CLIN internationales ont pr�sent� dans le salon d'honneur de la Mairie, un spectacle en plusieurs langues (fran�ais, anglais, bien s�r, mais aussi latin et patois rouchi !!!) � un public comptant la d�l�gation britannique rejointe (...)
